St. Jude Medical

Neuromodulation Division

Mechanical Engineering Intern

Plano, Texas

June 2016 - August 2016

Prior to Johnson & Johnson, I completed a Mechanical Engineering Internship with St. Jude Medical, a medical device manufacturing company located in Plano, Texas. (St. Jude Medical has since been acquired by Abbott Laboratories.) For nine-weeks I gained exposure to and was able to participate in hands on experiences working with Implantable Pulse Generators, or IPGs. IPGs are neurostimulators implanted in the lower back, or deep brain, of patients in order to treat chronic pain. I frequently utilized SolidWorks to assist engineers in the design and development, or testing and inspection of parts for these implantable devices as a part of a product redesign initiative. I collaborated cross functionally across multiple levels in the organization and demonstrated my ability to work within a team as well as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment, while being able to multitask, prioritize and meets deadlines in timely manner.
