3D Imaging and Animation

Segmentation and Animation of Human Hand Bones

During my sophomore year I took HNRS 3035: 3D Imaging and Animation. Given the applicability of 3D renderings in the medical device, pharmaceutical and consumer products industries (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, etc.), I was extremely interested in taking this course in order to deepen my understanding on the subject and the advantages it provides. We were to conduct a semester-long project in which we were to create and animate a 3D model of an MRI Scan. Using 3D imaging software, Avizo, each bone in the selected MRI scan was to be individually segmented, 3D rendered and animated using the animation software, Maya. Above you can see the progression of my project: The Segmentation and Animation of Human Hand Bones. Click here to see more.
